About The Groove Doctors w/Deb Hawley

Deb Hawley/ Lead vocalist / Backup Vocals got her start as a Blues singer at the former 3-B Blues Jam nearly 30 years ago where she quickly became indoctrinated in the Whatcom County Blues scene. Two years later as a vocalist in "The Melody Ranch Band” she met her husband David, the drummer in the band. She has performed with her husband in clubs & festivals throughout the Pacific Northwest. Deb is an intense performer whose voice is the heart and soul of the Groove Doctors.

David Hawley/ Drummer/ Backup Vocals got his first drum set when he was 15 and immediately caught the fever. He has played in a wide variety of bands spanning decades. He toured all over Canada and the West Coast for many years. David is known for his great "feel" and solid grooves.

Gary “The Gaz “ MacDonald - Bass Guitar / Backup Vocals was born in London, U.K where he started his journey in music playing rock on rhythm and lead guitar and playing throughout the 1970’s and 80’s in multiple bands, most of the time writing original compositions while touring the London circuit and beyond. In the mid 80’s he switched to Bass guitar as his main instrument to improve his playing on soul/funk/r&b and jazz music. Arriving in the U.S. in 1991. Today he is promoting a new exciting journey with members of the Groove Doctors, a high energy Rhythm & Blues band.

David Wayne has been living and working in Bellingham, WA, for the past 45 years. He has played guitar in various bands, either as a member or a substitute. A highly skilled guitarist and songwriter, Dave creates masterful riffs with a distinct clean tone. His preferred genre is blues, with Stevie Ray Vaughan as his favorite guitarist, though he also admires Gary Clark Jr., Robben Ford, and Eric Clapton, among others.
